The predicament of science communication for African researchers - we need our own platforms

Jamani, we need our own platforms.

But we need papers to be promoted. So we can not stop so we face

1. High rejection rate of apparently good research/palers

2. Wasted time

3. Emotional damage

This is because

The thing is they discriminate based on ethnicity, seniority and geographic location.

So me being a black junior scientist from Africa doesn't help. They won't even considerit.

If my affiliation was to some university in Europe or the US or if some professors name were there they would be accepted even with such gross errors

Don't care for our needs and priorities and our challenges. And it's not like we don't have anything to say, or what we do is not worthwhile far from the contrary.

No wonder statistics like Africa makes up 30% of the world population (how much of that are scientists?) but 1% of research output will never end.

That is not the first or only paper that has passed through peer and journal review with such issues

It hurts so much. And it is very discouraging, considering the amount of work that goes into a paper.
